Remember the Lilies (Review)
This review is for the book "Remember the Lilies" by Liz Tolsma. This is the second book by this author I have read and I really enjoyed it. I am not always a big fan of romance novels set in war-time, but the way Tolsma writes her books makes the stories so intriguing. I will be honest to say that I do not know a lot about World War II, but this story was not confusing. It definitely kept my interest even though it was heart-wrenching.
The story mainly follows Irene, a missionary, and Rand, a former club owner, who are in the same internment camp. There is an attraction there, but at the same time, there is not a lot of hope for survival in the camp.
Some of the stories in this novel were based off of true events which makes it even more horrendous. I think Tolsma does a great job of telling the story as well as tying fiction into historical events. I would like to read more of her in the future.
Thank you to Litfuse Publicity for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
