Never Say No (Review)
This review is for the book "Never Say No" by Mark and Jan Foreman. You may not recognize their names, but I bet that many of you will recognize the band their sons are in - Switchfoot. Switchfoot is a band I have always liked, so I was really interested to read this book.
Don't be distracted by the title of the book. The Foremans certainly did tell their kids "no" when necessary. This book is more about helping your kids imaginations grow and challenging them as they get older. It's about letting them fail. It's about letting them try new things and change their minds. It's about finding the best way to discipline as well as nurture each specific child. It's about allowing your child to make mistakes and not flipping out about it. It's about allowing your child to be a child in your home - and not having so much invested in your material possessions that they can't build forts and have pillow fights.
I think this book is well-written and it has great personal stories and advice throughout the book. I highly recommend it for parents to read.
Thank you to Litfuse Publicity for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
