Return of the Kosher Pig (Review)
This review is for the book "The Return of the Kosher Pig" by Rabbi Itzhak Shapira. This book contains an astounding amount of information regarding the Divine Messiah and how to identify Him based on Jewish writings from the last 2,000 years. I can tell that a lot of research went into the writing of this book. There are hundreds of terms that are defined for English readers, lists of rabbis and teachings from the last 2,000 years, indexes of references from all sections of the Bible and Jewish writings and a huge bibliography for further research.
One thing that the back cover of the book says, though, is that it is in an "easy-to-read format". I did not find this to be true. I have absolutely no background knowledge of Jewish writings or customs and hoped to learn a lot from this book. Instead, I felt overwhelmed and confused while reading it. I don't believe it is for the average person to use as a study guide.
Thank you to Cross Focused Reviews for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
