To Win Her Favor (Review)

To Win Her Favor Tamera Alexander

This review is for the book "To Win Her Favor" by Tamera Alexander. In this book, Maggie Linden is a very gifted horseback rider. She wants nothing more than to jockey her horse in an upcoming championship race. But in the 1800s, this was unheard of. Males dominated everything, especially racing.

Then Maggie is thrown for a loop when she becomes a married woman, in order to save her family's farm. Her new husband, Cullen McGrath, is actually quite a good match for her, it turns out, but he doesn't want her involved in racing because of his own secret past.

This novel really captured life in the 1800s in southern America. It really dug into the racism against African Americans and Irish Americans. It was incredibly sad and eye-opening even as a fiction novel. I loved the characters in this novel, and I really enjoyed the story as a whole. I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to Litfuse Publicity for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
