#25 - Watch all 10 seasons of Friends

A big thank you to Carrie for offering up ALL of her seasons of Friends for us to watch! I am seriously Friended out right now. We loved the series though and are so grateful to Carrie for letting us mooch them off of her!!

#4 - Buy the movie Love Actually

My sister is wayyyyy too cool for her own good. Ever since she found out that I wanted to get the movie Love Actually, she has been searching EVERYWHERE to buy it for me! Literally, since December! Turns out it's not the easiest movie to find. Anyway, she finally found it this weekend! And gave it to me when she came over yesterday!! She is so awesome!!! Now I just wanna watch it all the time!! These are some of my favorite quotes from the movie. Please, please rent it or come watch it at my house.

Mikey, DJ interviewer: How do you think the new record compares to your old, classic stuff?
Billy Mack: Oh come on Mikey, you know as well as I do the record's crap.

Aurelia: [in Portuguese] I will miss you. And your very slow typing... and your very bad driving.

[on sheets of poster board]
Mark: With any luck, by next year - I'll be going out with one of these girls. [shows pictures of beautiful supermodels]
Mark: But for now, let me say - Without hope or agenda - Just because it's Christmas - And at Christmas you tell the truth - To me, you are perfect - And my wasted heart will love you - Until you look like this [picture of a mummy]
Mark: Merry Christmas.

Sam: I know I should be thinking about Mum all the time, and I am. But the truth is I'm in love and I was before she died, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Daniel: [laughs] Aren't you a bit young to be in love?
Sam: No.
Daniel: Oh, well, okay, right. Well, I mean, I'm a little relieved.
Sam: Why?
Daniel: Well, because I thought it would be something worse.
Sam: [incredulous] Worse than the total agony of being in love?
Daniel: Oh. No, you're right. Yeah, total agony.

Okay, actually, I realize I could go on and on and on. I love every single minute of this movie. I am obsessed. Thank you so much Jenn!!!

School's NOT out for the summer!

I got my books today for my classes! Jenn asked me what my classes were the other day and I so lied to her. Sorry, babe. I put two class names together. My two summer classes are Human Growth & Development and Integration of Psychology and Theology. Here are my books, which I can't WAIT to start reading!! #(%*&#(%*&@

Development Across the Life Span
Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity
Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality in Christian Counseling
Reaching Out: The Three Movements of the Spiritual Life
The Life You've Always Wanted: Spiritual Disciplines for Ordinary People

Oh my gosh, these sound so great! I can't wait to dive right in!

I'm really growing up

Today, I saw two pennies in the middle of the road. Before I bent down to pick them up, I actually looked to see if a car was coming.

I am showing sure signs of maturity.

Weekend update

We had a really great weekend, but nothing major was goin' on. Friday night Stephen got called kind of last minute for a bachelor party, so I had the house to myself! I had plans of lounging in my PJs watching movies for four hours, but that didn't happen. I forced myself to unpack from New York (please pretend you didn't read that) and I just got in this gigantic cleaning frenzy! I ended up filling up six bags of giveaway stuff, and that was only from our closet/bedroom. I am amazed at the stuff I keep for no reason. Let GO, Amanda! My next project will be two boxes in the attic and all the boxes in the garage. I know there's a ton of stuff I can easily part with.

Saturday, I worked a bit in the morning until Stephen called me and begged me (yes, begged me) to come home early so we could start golfing earlier. We were worried we were going to get rained out. It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. After about five holes, we met up with some guys from church who waited on us and we finished our game with them. We then went home to relax, take a nap, and do some school stuff. We went to Steve's for dinner and to watch UFC 83. We had the best hamburgers and I finished my book before the fight, so it was a good night! Yesterday was nice too. Church was great as usual, and then we went to Granny and Granddaddy's to celebrate mom and Emma's birthdays with steaks and ice cream cake. Delicious!!

I had lunch today with my lovely sis. We Chick Fil-A'ed of course, and then made a pit stop at Fifi's. I love those lunches!

We just had an extremely hard rain that lasted approximately seven seconds. Like, before I could stand up to tell Kathee it was raining, it was over. Cheap! Stephen re-pinestrawed (???) our yard on Saturday so I'm happy for the rain. I hate the bushy look of pinestraw when it's first laid down.

NY Videos

One of my favorite things about New York was the fact that you could go anywhere and hear someone playing music, dancing, or singing for money. And most were quite talented! These are some of my favorites from New York, and they're all quite short if you want to watch them.

New York part two

Here is the second and last installment of my New York pictures. I think most people have seen these but I'm posting them anyway:

#63 - Don't be last place in the March Madness pool.

I don't know how well that picture shows up, but I am DEFINITELY not last place!! I was actually in first place for several days and then thanks to UNC being crushed by Kansas I dropped way down. I am still loyal to them though.

New Yorrrrrk

The only thing I hate about vacation is trying to type it all out to remember it!! Thank goodness for pictures! I'm just going to put up different pictures in clumps so I don't overload anyone. Yay!

Mom's first time flying! She loved it and we had a really great flight.

New York has golf courses too!

We found this cool tunnel that had water running over the part you walk through.

Love the M&M factory!!

All of NYC ignores this sign.

This time tomorrow...

I was just about to make a blog about how tomorrow at this time we will be in New York, when I checked my email and got this from Jenn:

How cute is she!?!? So this day of work is DRAGGGGGGING for me. I haven't really talked about the NY trip, so I will do that now! Mom, Jenn, and I are flying to New York from tomorrow to Saturday to celebrate mom's 1 year liver anniversary and early birthday. I am excited mainly because I haven't been to NY in about 8 years. That's so crazy! So we are planning on doing whatever mom wants to do. One night we are going to see Rent definitely. The other nights are just kind of up for grabs, for whatever else we want to do.

I hate packing for trips. I'm always terrified that I'm going to forget something. Like it would be the end of the world if I left my toothpaste here. But I can't help it!! I'm always scared that I won't pack enough books also. It's a curse.

SO EXCITED!*%&()*@#&%)(*#&%)

Copying Jenn

Here are the rules:

1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb.com and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike each out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. No Googling or IMDb-ing. That’s cheating and that’s no fun.

1. But for now, let me say - Without hope or agenda - Just because it's Christmas - And at Christmas you tell the truth - To me, you are perfect - And my wasted heart will love you - Until you look like this. [picture of a mummy] "Love Actually", by Jenn

2. When I was in flares, you were in nappies.

3. You have the whitest white-part-of-the-eyes I've ever seen. Do you floss?

4. There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

5. Those French. They hate us, they smoke, they have a whole relationship with dairy products I don't understand.

6. Guys, a woman's purse, alright, it's her secret source of power. Alright? There are many dark and dangerous things in there, that we, the male species, should know nothing about.

7. Here, you should try this out. Put this here. Swivelly door. Waffleonians can come in and out now.

8. Bob: There was a moment...when I used to blame everything and everyone... for all the pain and suffering and vile things that happened to me, that I saw happen to my people. Used to blame everybody. Blamed white people, blamed society, blamed God. I didn't get no answers 'cause I was asking the wrong questions. You have to ask the right questions
Derek: Like what?
Bob: Has anything you've done made your life better?

9. Lower your flags and march straight back to England, stopping at every home to beg forgiveness for a hundred years of theft, rape, and murder. Do this and your men shall live. Do it not, and every one of you will die today. "Braveheart", by Jenn

10. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Just Kidding

Okay, well, sorry to say this because now I feel a little guilty, but that last blog was my April Fool's joke. I know, it was lame. But thank you to Jenn, Gail, and Katie who stepped up to talk me out of my craziness!!

April Fool's Day used to be my favorite holiday growing up. I would plan for weeks on what I was going to do to terrorize my classmates and family. I remember one year I got sick and had to be out of school on April 1, and I spent the whole day crying. Yikes! When I got to college, the jokes got to be a little funnier. One year, Mary and I went to our neighbors' apartment, because they never locked their door, and we turned off their electricity at the breaker box. They came over after classes asking if our power was out, and we searched their apartment with them "trying" to figure out what had happened. It took them like two hours to realize what was up. Meanwhile, we had also rearranged their apartment, tied their sink sprayer down with a rubber band, and I can't remember what all else. That was probably the hardest I've ever laughed at an April Fool's joke!!

So, you can't get rid of me that easily. I do love blogging, and I can't wait to continue on in it.

Sorry to see me leave

Today Jenn called me to talk about Stoneybrook and other miscellaneous things. One thing we talked about is how fast time seems to be flying by! I feel like this year so far has just been out of this world fast. The good thing is that if I have a really stressful week coming up, I know it will be over soon!

I was telling her how I can't believe that next week we'll be in New York already, and then at the beginning of May I'll be going to see Keely graduate, and then the next week is when I'll be starting school. Yay! I'm really excited about my classes so far. But thinking about all that is going to be going on, I've got to make a decision. Unfortunately, after the month of April, I am going to shut down my blog. I just simply feel that with school, trying to spend time with my hubby and family, work, church, etc., I just won't be able to put as much effort into it as I'd like to. And I hate looking at someone's blog who never posts. So it looks like I'll probably just delete the whole thing. I don't think blogger.com would keep it up very long anyway.

But have no fear! I will give you some other great reading material throughout this month so that you will have many other ways to procrastinate on the internet! I will miss blogging but that's life!
