A Sky Without Stars Review

I recently finished reading my second book in the Quilts of Love series. This one was "A Sky without Stars" by Linda S. Clare. The Quilts of Love series is a compilation of novels written by several different authors, with different storylines and characters involved.

This story was difficult for me to emotionally connect with. The book is about a woman, Frankie Chasing Bear, her son Harold, and some issues they are dealing with. Her male counterpart is Nick. Most of the main characters are of Native American heritage. It was somewhat confusing to me simply because I do not know a lot of the history and upbringing of these tribes. The Lakota tribe and Navajo tribe were discussed primarily in the book, but I felt a little lost at times because some of their thoughts and emotions didn't really make sense to me. I can't say that the book was realistic or not because I don't personally know anyone from these tribes, and I just didn't relate to the characters.

The book itself was well-written, I just didn't connect to it. I would enjoy reading a different book by this author, I believe.

Thank you to Litfuse Publicity and Abingdon Press for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
