The Promise (Review)

This review is for the book "The Promise" by Beth Wiseman. I will be honest. After reading the back cover of this book, I couldn't wait to dig into this book. It sounds too unbelievable, and yet it is based on actual events that transpired.

This is about a woman named Mallory. Through some crazy schemes of her boss and his relatives, she ends up making a decision to fly to Pakistan, marry a man she doesn't know, and bring him and his family back to the United States for medical care for his daughter. What Mallory doesn't know is the extent of deception involved in the plan. She doesn't listen to anyone when deciding to go to Pakistan, and by the time she gets there, it is too late to just leave whenever she wants.

This book was so eye-opening to me. I cannot believe this kind of thing happens in real life. It made my heart ache for her, as well as those in the cities discussed in the book, if this is true to life at all.

I highly recommend this book. You won't want to stop reading it, to find out the end of Mallory's story.

Thank  you to Litfuse Publicity and Thomas Nelson for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
