Heaven, How I Got Here (Review)

This review is for the book "Heaven, How I Got Here: The story of the thief on the cross" by Colin S. Smith. Honestly, this is one of the most enjoyable books I have read in a long time. This book had me nodding my head, writing in my journal, and embracing scripture.

The book is written from the perspective of the thief on the cross who accepted the love of Jesus. As we say, he accepted at the last minute, but as "he" says, he accepted at his first opportunity. I loved that. The thief on the cross shows us that heaven is not ours because of religion. It's not ours because of going to church, or being baptized, or taking communion. Getting into heaven depends on Jesus alone. The book goes throughout the last hours of the life of the thief. Of course it is fiction but I think it shows brilliantly the love of God, our need for Him, and what might have been going through the mind of the thief on that day, the last day of his life.

I have nothing but high praise for this book, and I highly recommend it.

Thank you to Cross Focused Reviews for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
