The Promise of Palm Grove (Review)

This review is for the book "The Promise of Palm Grove" by Shelley Shepard Gray. I have not yet read a book by Gray that I did not enjoy, and this book did not disappoint. This is book one in her Amish Brides of Pinecraft series. It was a bit different than other Amish fiction I have read because it is set in Florida, at the beach. As Gray herself says, it was really interesting to learn about the Amish going to the beach for vacation or living there. It was a bit different setting than I am used to in Amish novels.

In this story, Leona is an Amish bride-to-be but she is having serious doubts about her beau. She goes on a trip to Pinecraft with some girlfriends and surprises herself by developing feelings for Zach, a man she meets. Now Leona has to decide what to do about her fiance Edmund as well as Zach, who is obviously interested in her. I enjoyed the storyline and appreciated Leona standing up for herself throughout the book. I would love to read more in this series.

Thank you to Litfuse Publicity for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
