Kindergarten - Day 32 and Day 33

Day 32 - Wednesday

If you're on Facebook, you saw this photo yesterday. Hunter's a mastermind of imaginative play.

Prayer time, pledges, and Bible time. Still talking about the 10 Commandments. We focused on numbers 1 and 2.

Bible verse of the week - 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Living Long Ago - talking about medieval times - Bri is infatuated!

Poetry: Reading the title poem from "The Llama Who Had no Pajama". It was so cute! I am really loving this book.

 Math:

Language Arts: working on story sequencing and telling stories based on pictures.

 Crossword puzzles:

We got home from Kindermusik and she dressed up, then changed one more time before church! I promise she goes through clothes like it's her job!

 Day 33 - Thursday

Brianna opened up her prayer journal this morning and showed me what she added to her prayer list last night - my hip. I've been having hip problems. I thought this was the sweetest gesture!

Bible: The Ten Commandments, focusing on #3.

Living Long Ago: talking about medieval food and banquets!

Poetry: "Roses are Red", "Ring-A-Ring O' Roses", "Corporal Bull", "Baa Baa Black Sheep", "Up and Down the Avenue", "Opposites", "Neighbors", "The Folk Who Live in Backward Town", "Balloons" and "Money"

Field Trip to The Pilot newspaper:

I thought the tour was really fascinating. One of my highlights was when Hunter raised his hand in the middle of the presentation and said to the editor of the paper, "Hey, did you know that mushrooms are called fungi?" Everyone thought he was the cutest! And we have his aunt Juju to thank for that - she is in college and teaching him all kinds of stuff!

By the end of the tour, Bri was feeling especially comfortable with the editor and asked all kinds of questions and made all kinds of comments. He was very patient with her! He joked with her at the end about how "shy" she obviously is. She had on a ballet leotard and when he found out she is a dancer (by her own admission) he asked her to twirl for the group and she gladly obliged. She's so precious :-)

Unfortunately, our Magic School Bus class was canceled today due to one of the hostess' children having pinkeye. We'll be back at it next Thursday!
