Kindergarten - Day 44 and Day 45

But first... a small look into our weekend:

Pumpkin patch!

Brianna got a hold of my camera!

Hunter earned a reward from his reward chart and chose Purple Penguin for his reward!

 Day 44 - Monday

Prayer, pledges, and Bible - "The Bronze Snake"

Verse of the week - Hebrews 13:8

Living Long Ago - looking at how people discovered new foods

Poetry: "The Pie", "Peter, Peter", "My Black Hen", and two from our new book "Heartsongs" which is written by an 11-year old: "Making Real Sense of the Senses" and "The Gift of Color"

 Math:

Interlude - play time at Grandma and Grandpa's while I'm at physical therapy!

Later that day... back to work in a new location!

Language Arts: Letter S

Our curriculum includes these cute little books called "Fun Tales". I think I'm supposed to introduce them to her one book every week, starting now, but on this day she read 9. Then I told her we weren't going to read all 20 in one sitting and she finally stopped. (I actually would have let her keep going but Hunter needed a very serious surgery called band-aid extraction of the thigh area and it was a traumatic event that took place as soon as school was over.)

 Hunter's school work:

All our work is done... we feast!

Day 45 - Tuesday

Prayers, pledges and Bible - "Balaam's Donkey Speaks"

Living Long Ago -  exploration by sea

Poetry: "Little Bo-Peep", "The Smell of a Noise", "Angel Wings"

Math:

Hunter wanted to do "real" stuff today! Look at his cute numbers!

Measurement vocabulary: We were supposed to talk about pounds, ounces, cups, tablespoons, and teaspoons, but we just kind of skimmed over it. The kids cook with me enough that they are familiar with these terms.

 Language Arts:

She had to circle two words that rhymes, underline the word that talks about sitting down, write "pat" backwards, and circle the vowel in each word.

Meanwhile, Hunter apparently had a birthday picnic in his monster truck.
